Benefits of Submetering

Typically, a multi-residential building has one main or central meter that supplies the entire building’s utility consumption. This setup can lead to unfair energy cost allocation for tenants. A user-pay system like submetering allows you to pay for what you use, while also being better for the environment.

  • You are billed based on your usage within your suite. Each suite comes equipped with their own meters, which operate independently from other suites. 
  • Meters are read remotely, eliminating the need for human meter readers. Previously, the way to calculate consumption was to send an employee to manually read all meters in a building or complex. Advances in meter technology now allows for daily remote readings, ensuring that your privacy to your suite is secure.
  • Great for the environment. QMC submeters are equipped with advanced algorithms that can detect if your suite has a leak, or if you accidentally left your bathroom faucet on. This helps you save on your utility bills, as well as helping you reduce your overall utility consumption.

To enroll into QMC’s Utility Billing Solutions, fill in the paper enrollment form your Property Manager has provided. If you require a new copy, please feel free to email us for your digital copy at [email protected] You may then email us the completed form. 

The Pre-Authorized Debit Agreement (PAD) is the easiest method to paying your invoice. The amount owing on your invoice will automatically be withdrawn from your account on the due date shown on the invoice.

You are not required to complete the Agreement, but it is recommended for your convenience.  If you require a new copy, please feel free to email us for your digital copy at [email protected] You may then email us the completed form. 

If you are planning on or are in the process of moving out, please email us here. You may also send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Attention; Moving out”. Ensure your Name, Current Address, Move Out Date, and Forwarding Address are included. 


There are three other payment options:

  • Online using your financial institution’s website. Select “Quadlogic Meters Canada” as the Payee. Please have your account number available. 
  • In person at your financial institution. A copy of your invoice will need to be presented.

We are unable to accept credit card payments at this time.

eBill allows you to view your account information online, such as your invoices and your previous payments. You will receive an email alert notifying you that your statement is ready to view through your eBill account.

Yes. Your first invoice will be sent to you via email by QMC Billing Staff. Included in that email will be a link to register for eBill.

You must follow the link and the instructions provided to complete your registration for eBills.

No. eBills are where your digital invoices are kept; you may only view account information on eBills. Pay invoices with either QMC’s Pre-Authorized Debit Agreement or the other payment methods listed in the Enrollment section.

The rates used for billing are set by the Municipality and/or Commodity Provider for the area in which your building resides. Those charges are regulated by the provincial government and can change as and when approved. 

To set up pre-authorized payments with QMC Billing Solutions you must provide:

  • Bank Institution Number
  • Transit Number
  • Bank Account Number

Customer Service

Your new home is provided with a variety of utilities: It may provide space heating or cooling, water heating or cooling, electricity, gas, and/or water. Your property management company has chosen QMC to manage your suite’s Utility Billing.

You will receive your first bill from QMC the month following your move-in date.
