CivicAction’s Race to Reduce is one of the largest regional energy conservation challenges in the world, with 196 buildings participating representing more than 69 million square feet or 42% of the commercial office space in the region.  Earlier this month, the winning buildings for energy conservation were honoured at a Toronto awards event. Office building owners, tenants and workers in Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham and Toronto demonstrated the collective power of conservation with 64 buildings achieving energy reduction of more than 10% across the four years of the Race (2011 – 2014). Twenty-one of those buildings reduced their energy by more that 20%.  Click here to read the whole story and see the full list of winners.

One of the top conservers is QMC client, Oxford Properties Group, for the Richmond Adelaide Centre who cut their energy by 35% between 2011 and 2014! Congratulations.
