Congratulations to our client, Oxford Properties for their Eau Claire Tower in Calgary, Alberta, recently named a ‘Top Project’ for Sustainability by Alberta Construction Magazine.
Eau Claire Tower is registered and targeting LEED Canada-NC Gold certification; the building design will incorporate a number of advanced sustainable design initiatives. We are proud to be part of the team on this project, having designed and implemented the building’s complete turnkey metering and communication system for electrical, water, gas and thermal energy. The revenue-grade metering system has a direct connection to the MeterConnex web-based reporting system as well as their local building automation system. Eau Claire Tower’s complete meter solution by QMC will enable M&V, as required for LEED certification.
About Eau Claire Tower, from Alberta Construction Magazine: “Sustainability is a defining feature of this new 25-storey office tower, which has been built to LEED Platinum standards. Among its notable features are the chilled beam system used to cool the perimeter of each office floor and an easily expandable dashboard system to monitor building operations. Because the site is located on a silt channel, the team used a full secant wall system and SBS waterproofing to complete the difficult foundation work and keep the project on track to meet its schedule.”
Submetering is an essential component of LEED certified buildings – now more than ever with LEED v4. Consultants, property managers and developers want an end-to-end solution that will allow them to achieve LEED credits in a cost-effective way. Because we design, deliver and implement, the QMC team ensures each piece of the project hardware and software is compatible.
