  • Collect, store and report on all of their meter and sensor data in one location; either QMC’s Meterconnex platform or on other energy management software
  • Reduce costs by utilizing existing meters and communications infrastructure
  • Connect to all of their meters through a combination of wired and wireless communications equipment and open-protocols
  • Attain accurate meter data, through the supply of high-quality meters and commissioning all new and existing meters
  • Standardize their meter reporting of all utilities: electricity, water, gas, steam and thermal energy (BTU)

Humber College - Toronto

Humber College wanted to isolate and monitor energy use on their two campuses, in order to better track and target energy efficiency across 47 buildings.

QMC acted as the general contractor and supplied, installed, commissioned and project managed a multi-utility metering system deployment.

QMC designed, supplied and commissioned a multi-utility metering system with temperature and pressure sensors to allow for advanced energy management.

The meters and sensors operate with open-protocol, non-proprietary data loggers by QMC, allowing for seamless flow of meter data to the BAS.

University of British Columbia

UBC was seeking a dispersed metering solution for several buildings on campus that could combine electricity, gas, and thermal utilities.

QMC supplied, commissioned and integrated a campus-wide solution for utility use monitoring.

MeterConnex is QMC’s in-house energy management platform. Highly advanced and customizable, MeterConnex provides:

  • Dashboard reports available, detailing energy use by building, then by utility type
  • Advanced leak detection algorithms run in the background, identifying problems in near real-time
  • Benchmark building efficiency through the full spectrum of analytical tools such as usage and consumption reports, multiple graphing features, and more
  • Ability to set alarms that can send emails and texts to relevant parties, improving emergency response time
  • Ability to export data to ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
  • Compatible with all popular web browsers and mobile devices
