Problem:
UBC required improvements to their utility metering system and data collection and reporting tools to improve business processes and leverage advance technologies.
Process:
QMC implemented new IoT technologies to upgrade existing meters enabling a fixed network wireless system reading a minimum of 712 intervals per month. Water and electricity meters that were once read manually on a monthly basis are now automatically sending quality data for use by sustainability and accounting teams.
Outcome:
Advanced meter data and reporting is now available on the MeterConnex cloud-based platform. The result is improved operational process, service delivery and a reduction in operating expenses. QMC has also deployed over 1000 multi-utility meters throughout various projects at the UBC campus.
