On December 17th and 18th, 13 QMC members volunteered their time to help a local community charity, the Union Gospel Mission. This is in line with QMC’s new initiative, Day of Caring, to support local charities and communities.
Over the two days, QMC members helped Union Gospel Mission at their Christmas Hamper Store. The Christmas Hamper Store helps low income families to experience some of the joys that are part of the Christmas season, as well as provides them agency, by being able to shop at the Hamper Store personally choosing gifts that would be ideal for their families.
Our staff were tasked with one of four roles: Door Greeter, Delivery Assistant, Restocker, or Gift Wrapper. All roles were equally vital to ensuring guests would have a smooth experience.
The holiday season is the perfect time to count our blessings, and spread some holiday cheer to those less fortunate. Union Gospel Mission is always looking for more volunteers or donations, please feel free to give this holiday season.
