Building Excellence; Earth Hour Challenge In Toronto

Earth Hour Challenge, Metering in buildings

“QMC would like to congratulate all Earth Hour participants and its winners, with a special shout-out to Colliers for winning the Property Manager Challenge. Colliers reduced their energy use over the Earth Hour weekend by 53.5%!”

Mike Easton, Vice President Sales, Eastern Canada & Earth Hour Challenge Advisor

The purpose of Earth Hour is to measure a reduction in energy use during earth hour.  But, we all know the real objective is to create greater awareness on the amount of electricity that is routinely wasted – as witnessed by the needless number of lighting burning across the city.

The QMC team was proud to be an Earth Hour Challenge Advisor. Utility submetering is an important component of encouraging conservation behaviours for building owners, managers and tenants.

BOMA Toronto Earth Hour Challenge serves to highlight what is possible year round as well as stress the importance of tools like metering and submetering to measure and monitor performance. BOMA Toronto and, and partner, WWF-Canada – Living Planet @ Work thank the record number of 424 buildings and tenants who participated in this year’s challenge.
